Participating graduates must respond to the Graduation RSVP Survey, sent to their Schreiner email account in late-October, no later than Thursday, November 7th . Participating graduates will receive a detailed information packet to their Schreiner email account on November 21st.
Sofía Lopez

2024 Commencement Speaker Honoree
Sofia Lopez, a distinguished Schreiner University alumna from the Class of 2020, exemplifies Schreiner’s mission to educate students through a whole-person approach that includes mind, body, spirit, and community. A first-generation college graduate, Sofia earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology and Public Health while serving as a Resident Assistant, Biology Supplemental Instructor, and Admissions Ambassador.
She continued her education with a Master’s degree in Health Promotion and Behavioral Sciences from UTHealth Houston School of Public Health, further strengthening her commitment to equitable community health.
Today, Sofia serves as a Senior Project Coordinator at University Health in San Antonio, where she leads impactful initiatives in public health programming and grant-supported community development. Her earlier roles with the Texas Department of State Health Services and UTHealth highlight a career built on service, education, and advocacy.
Rooted in the Hill Country and driven by purpose, Sofia reflects Schreiner University’s legacy of entering with hope and leaving with achievement. Her story affirms the university’s commitment to opportunity, mentorship, and the transformative power of education.
