Schreiner Drum and Bugle Corps: Achievement through Musical Excellence
The Schreiner Drum and Bugle Corps seeks to serve Schreiner University in a way that prepares students for meaningful work and purposeful lives in a global society. We aim to develop students’ skills in leadership, discipline, and musical excellence through the art of marching performance. As a proud extension of the Schreiner Institute, we foster the values of teamwork, service, and integrity, preparing students for success in their post-collegiate career paths. The Schreiner Drum and Bugle Corps serves as a symbol of pride and tradition for the university, representing the spirit of honor, dedication, hope, and achievement.
History of the Schreiner Drum and Bugle Corps
The Schreiner Drum and Bugle Corps was officially established in 2025, although over a year of planning took place before our first season began. The corps was founded at the behest of our esteemed university president, Dr. Charlie McCormick, whose vision was to create a dynamic musical ensemble that seeks to represent and serve the university and the greater Kerrville community. In October of 2024, we were notified that the Schreiner Drum and Bugle Corps would be the fortunate recipients of a very generous grant from the REA Charitable Trust Foundation. Thanks to this incredible gift, we have been able to outfit the corps with the highest quality instruments and uniforms. We look forward to continuing to be a symbol of pride and tradition for the university, while also providing a top-tier musical educational experience.
