WHAT ENSEMBLES ARE OFFERED AT SCHREINER UNIVERSITY?

University Concert Band is the premiere band ensemble of the University. The concert band presents four concerts each year and performs a variety of standard repertoire as well as newly commissioned work for wind ensemble.

University Pep Band performs at home basketball games and additional spirit events on campus, as well as events out in the community. The pep band is the enthusiastic voice of musical pride that students can rally behind at important Schreiner events.

University Jazz Band gives students a chance to perform a variety of styles including swing, latin, funk, and modern fusion compositions.

Chamber Ensembles at Schreiner allows students to participate in small ensembles that are coached by various applied instructors such as brass quintet, saxophone quartet, woodwind quintet & brass choir.

ABOUT THE BAND INDUSTRY

In the years all ensembles in the Schreiner Band Department look to grow in numbers and enthusiasm. Mulitiple concert and jazz ensembles, along with the growth in size of the pep band will have music filling the halls of the beautiful Summerlin Music Education Hall. The department will also include several advanced chamber groups that will represent Schreiner in performance on campus and around the state

MAKING SCHREINER STAND OUT

Schreiner students will gain recognition by participating in musical programs throughout the country, including, but not limited to: The National Intercollegiate Band, The CBDNA Small College Intercollegiate Band, and performances at the Texas Music Educators Association Convention.

WHO CAN BE INVOLVED?

Any student who participated in band in high school and wishes to continue their love of music through college may participate. You do not have to major in Music to receive a band scholarship.
