What are Esports at Schreiner?
If you play video games, and think you have what it takes to compete at the next level, then Schreiner Esports is the program for you! We are currently recruiting players for League of Legends, Overwatch, Rocket League, Super Smash, and more.
Our mission is to develop players both inside and outside of the game. This includes driving players to competitive success as well as academic and career success. As a player at Schreiner, you will learn what it takes to compete on a team at the collegiate level while balancing academics. Players will develop communication, problem solving, and time management skills.
Schreiner University is one of just a handful of schools recruiting for esports at this time. You have the opportunity to represent your University in something that you’re passionate about while earning your desired degree!
Schreiner Esports will be competing in a number or competitions and tournaments. Some of these include the newly formed esports division of the SCAC conference, TESPA, CSL, CRL, and CLoL. Schreiner has also traveled to tournaments such as Battle4TX.
Who are we looking for?

- Players of all ranks are encouraged to apply and may be accepted to the program
- Open tryouts will be held at the beginning of each school year to determine Varsity and JV rosters for each game
- Players must adhere to the esports player manual and code of conduct
We are also looking for students who are interested in streaming, casting, production, social media, and other positions!
What does this look like?
Each team will have a weekly schedule which includes meetings, VOD reviews, scrimmages, competitive queueing, and matches. Schreiner Esports competes out of the Bunker located in our brand-new residence hall, Baldwin. The bunker is home to 13 gaming PCs with full peripherals, console tv stations for our Smash Ultimate players, a large projector surrounded by couches for video review and watch parties, as well as a dedicated streaming/broadcasting room. Schreiner Esports also provides opportunities to students in production, social media, editing, and other avenues to become involved with our program. Outside of scheduled practices and matches, the bunker is open to our esports players for free play to practice individually.
