Schreiner University’s Student Activities Board (SAB) brought pride and recognition home from the 2025 Association for the Promotion of Campus Activities (APCA) South Regional Conference. Demonstrating their creativity, collaboration, and dedication to student engagement, the Schreiner SAB earned multiple awards while networking with peer leaders, industry professionals, and performers.

The SAB earned:

  • Second Place in both Print Marketing Materials and Shirt Design categories
  • Third Place in the Novelty Category

These awards underscore the team’s commitment to creating innovative and high-quality marketing that enhances campus life and builds a vibrant student community.

In addition to the SAB’s success, David Gehrels, Director of Student Activities, was honored as Advisor of the Year, recognizing his leadership, innovation, and unwavering commitment to developing Schreiner student leaders.

“What a great time at APCA South this year! We enjoyed networking with agents and performers, learned and shared best practices with other universities and their programming boards, and booked some great talent to bring home to our students,” said Gehrels. “I’m very thankful for my amazing Executive Team and our awesome General Board Members – you guys rock!”

The APCA South Regional Conference celebrates excellence in campus programming, marketing, and leadership across the southern United States. Schreiner’s continued recognition at APCA reflects the university’s mission to offer transformative student experiences and its identity as the university of the Texas Hill Country.
