The Texas Center at Schreiner University Earns Lone Star Emmy Nomination for E Pluribus Texas

Recognition follows four Telly Awards for the Texas history video series; winners will be announced November 14 in Houston
KERRVILLE, Texas — The Texas Center at Schreiner University has earned a Lone Star Emmy nomination in the Historical/Cultural – Short Form or Long Form Content category for its Texas history video series, E Pluribus Texas. The nomination recognizes director John “Ben” Friberg and writer Donald Frazier for their work on the program.
“This is really a testament to the great team we have assembled here at The Texas Center. Each brings something to the table, and together, we created a landmark achievement for the university that will be useful for telling the Texas story to generations of Texans to come,” said Dr. Don Frazier, director of The Texas Center.
Produced by The Texas Center at Schreiner University, E Pluribus Texas explores the diverse people, cultures and events that shaped the state. Narrated by Frazier, the series combines historical research, expert interviews, archival footage and on-location storytelling to bring Texas history to life.
The Lone Star Emmy Awards are presented by the Lone Star Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, recognizing excellence in television and related video production across Texas. Winners will be announced at the awards gala in Houston on November 14, 2026.
The nomination follows four Telly Awards earned by E Pluribus Texas earlier this year, adding to the series’ recognition for its approach to telling the Texas story.
The series has also drawn praise for its balanced treatment of Texas history and commitment to academic freedom.
“Schreiner is on to something valuable. E Pluribus Texas is very, very balanced and tells ‘the good, the bad, and the ugly’. I don’t see a white-washing attempt at all, so kudos to Schreiner for preserving academic freedom,” said Maxx Judd, former senior manager of Apple Worldwide Education Advocacy Programs.
