Why did you choose Schreiner Nursing?
I wanted to attend nursing school with smaller class sizes so that I could have the opportunity to have a more one on one experience with my professors. I knew nursing school wasn’t going to be easy. So, I wanted to ensure that I had all of the resources available to me and professors are one of those resources.

How has Schreiner helped you reach your goals?
I have gained knowledge about nursing as a career and I have only grown to love this track in on even more. After attending clinicals and working with patients I know this is what I need to do as a career, and I am getting closer to reaching this goal every day.

What advice would you give to an incoming nursing student?
Nursing school isn’t easy, but after every patient you will help, you will realize how much it is worth being part of this program. You can have such a huge impact on peoples’ lives, even as a nursing student. You should go into everyday thinking about all the patients you will be helping one day. Always remember, your fellow nursing students are the only ones who can understand what nursing school is really like, rely on them.

Where is your favorite study spot?
I prefer to study on my own at a coffee shop or at the park. Just somewhere that I can be by myself with minimal distractions around me.

What area of nursing are you interested in working when you graduate?
As of now I am interested in working in neonatology, however this may change depending on my clinical rotations.

What nursing student organization have you joined and why did you join?
I am a member of the TNSA, and I decided to join this organization because I wanted to be informed about what is going on in the student nursing world and I wanted to have opportunities to go to conferences to meet other students nurses from around the state. This will allow me to see that there are other people in the same exact position in life that I am!

Favorite campus events?
I’ve always loved volunteering, so I like any event that allows me to give back in any way that I can.
