Schreiner University Names Dr. Melissa Allen as Director of the Center for Talent and Workforce Development

KERRVILLE, TEXAS — September 15, 2025 — Schreiner University announces the appointment of Dr. Melissa Allen as the new Director of the Center for Talent and Workforce Development. This key leadership role supports Schreiner’s 2030 Strategic Plan and reinforces the university’s mission to serve as the educational and economic hub of the Texas Hill Country.

Dr. Allen brings more than 20 years of experience in education leadership, curriculum development, and workforce readiness. She has served as a high school Assistant Principal, elementary Principal, and Coordinator of Site Interventions, where she created programs to ensure at-risk teens graduated from high school

Her background includes leading teacher development programs, designing innovative training systems, and managing large-scale educational initiatives in both public and private sectors.

She earned her Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Liberty University. Her expertise includes instructional technology, adult learning, faculty development, and program design. These qualifications make her uniquely suited to help Schreiner deliver on its goal of developing graduates who are prepared for meaningful careers and purposeful lives

In her new role, Dr. Allen will guide the creation and expansion of programs that align with local workforce needs. These include career-focused certificates, continuing education pathways, and community partnerships. She will also support university efforts to increase enrollment and broaden access to career training.

Dr. Allen’s appointment reflects Schreiner’s ongoing commitment to practical, innovative education that supports students, families, and local communities. Her leadership will be instrumental in shaping Schreiner’s second century of service.
