Schreiner University Names Dr. Jared Montoya as New Dean of Faculty

Kerrville, Texas — Schreiner University is proud to announce the appointment of Dr. Jared A. Montoya as the new Dean of Faculty. Dr. Montoya joins Schreiner with over two decades of leadership in higher education, strategic innovation, and academic development.
“I am so excited to welcome Dr. Montoya as our Dean of Faculty,” said Dr. Russell Frohardt, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Schreiner University. “Not only does he bring a wealth of knowledge and experience as a faculty member and administrator at Our Lady of the Lake University and UT Brownsville, Dr. Montoya works with advisory boards and CEOs in industry on implementing strategies. He is a champion of student and faculty success and will be an outstanding leader within Academic Affairs.”
Dr. Montoya’s academic and administrative career has been distinguished by his commitment to excellence in curriculum development, graduate and online program innovation, and strategic partnerships. Most recently serving as Associate Provost at Our Lady of the Lake University, he led efforts that expanded graduate offerings, enhanced student success, and forged meaningful community and corporate partnerships. His leadership has directly contributed to improving completion rates, increasing access through online programs, and securing millions in federal grant support.
Beyond academia, Dr. Montoya is the co-founder of WeGood? Inc., where he collaborates with industry leaders to cultivate cultures of integrity, empathy, and innovation. His interdisciplinary expertise will be instrumental in advancing Schreiner’s mission and Strategic Plan reinforcing Schreiner’s identity as the Texas Hill Country’s university.
Dr. Montoya holds a Ph.D. in Applied Social Psychology from Brigham Young University and has published extensively in leadership, psychology, and education. He is fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese and brings a culturally competent and student-centered approach to academic leadership.
With Dr. Montoya at the helm of Academic Affairs, Schreiner University looks forward to a new chapter of academic excellence, strategic growth, and enduring impact across the Texas Hill Country and beyond.
