Schreiner reports 3-year high in spring enrollment numbers

Schreiner University’s spring semester enrollment reached a three-year high across the board, including spring-to-spring enrollments in undergraduates, graduates, and total number of students, according to the official 12-day student census released this week. Additionally, the report shows the spring semester transfer enrollment from the fall is the highest on record.

These numbers follow a fall enrollment that once again surpassed 1,200, with 1,208 total students, up from 1,193 the previous fall. Two areas reached historic highs–graduate enrollments of 146 and first-year retention of 72%.

These enrollment gains are attributed to a focus on new programs, providing excellent academic support to Schreiner students, affordability initiatives, and community engagement, according to Mark Tuschak, Vice President of Student Recruitment.

“A combination of new programs, our commitment to make college more affordable, and new leadership in student services office and in our admissions office is translating to improved enrollment and retention,” Tuschak said. “Our students are also fortunate to have the support of the Kerrville community, especially from the generous donors of the Hill Country College Fund scholarship program. Community partners are vital to making Schreiner students feel welcome and supported.”
