National award-winning songwriter Cosy Sheridan
Kerrville, TX – Schreiner University proudly presents “Music & Conversation” on Apr 11, at 7 p.m. in the Junkin Ministry Center Recital Hall. The guest artist will be national award-winning songwriter Cosy Sheridan.
In an intimate, relaxed setting, “Music & Conversation” will be instructive, not just entertaining. Much like “Inside the Actors Studio” by James Lipton, artists will discuss and explain meanings behind their songwriting, inspiration, techniques used and demonstrate through their performance.
Bill Muse, accomplished musician and Schreiner’s Vice President for Administration and Finance, will serve as the emcee for the evening.
“Music & Conversation” is included in the curriculum of several of Schreiner’s undergraduate classes. Now, this event is free and open to the public. Students, faculty and staff are highly encouraged to attend.
Cosy Sheridan has been called “one of the era’s finest and most thoughtful singer/songwriters.” She first appeared on the national folk scene in 1992 when she won the songwriting contests at The Kerrville Folk Festival and The Telluride Bluegrass Festival. Since then she has released 10 cds, written a one-woman-show and her music has appeared in books and film. She has taught songwriting, guitar and performance workshops at music camps for the past 15 years, including The Puget Sound Guitar Workshop and The Swannanoa Gathering. She is the director of The Moab Folk Camp in Moab, Utah.
