“What draws me to Schreiner is my love for rural communities and hometown feeling you have when driving through the campus and Kerrville,” Jessup said. “With my leadership, I plan on growing both the Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Programs to be a best-in-class program in Texas.”

Her educational background includes earning her Doctorate in Nursing Practice from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center; Family Nurse Practitioner and Master of Science in Nursing at the University of Texas at Austin; and Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Associate Degree in Nursing at Angelo State University. Jessup also holds a Certificate in Global Health from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.

She is also active in delivering health care to medically underserved areas through her small rural health house call clinic in rural Central Texas.

Jessup, a 9th generation Texan, grew up in Houston, then moved to West Texas during her high school and undergraduate years. She and her husband, Brian, have 5 children, Sophia 16, Nicholas, 14, Gianna 11, Lucia 9, and Julia 6. The family loves to travel as much as possible and learning about people, food and cultures.

Jessup sees her leadership style as championing rigorous academic standards and innovative curriculum design to prepare students for the evolving demands of healthcare, using a hands-on approach and dedication to student success.

“I want to focus on leveraging my extensive clinical and educational expertise to further mentor and educate Nurse Practitioner students, with the goal of advancing equitable and compassionate healthcare,” she said. “My misson is to have left a lasting impact on future generations of nursing professionals.”
