Habitat House

Schreiner University has partnered with First Presbyterian Church of Kerrville and Habitat for Humanity Kerr County to build a home in honor of Schreiner’s 100th anniversary.

A young family has been selected by Habitat for Humanity as the future homeowners to receive this house. The foundation was poured in late November 2022, and on January 11, 2023, the building process began with several Schreiner staff members helping chalk out the walls as the first step of its construction. The official wall raising was held on January 19, 2023, at the building site. Following this, construction has begun with various teams consisting of Schreiner faculty, students and staff going out each Wednesday to work. Teams will continue to go out weekly until the end of June when the home is projected to be completed.
