DAILY TOURS
Daily tours provide students with one-on-one time to ask questions and meet with admissions, faculty, and financial aid.

1. Deposit and Commit
Ready to make it official? The first step is submitting your enrollment deposit.
To commit to Schreiner University:

Submitting your deposit secures your place in the incoming class and allows you to move forward with housing, academic advising, and orientation.

2. Cost and Financial Aid
A typical college budget includes tuition, fees, housing, meals, books, and personal expenses. At Schreiner University, we work to keep college costs clear and predictable.

Welcome to Schreiner University. Whether you are transferring from a community college, another university, or returning to complete your degree, we are excited to help you begin your journey as a Schreiner Mountaineer.
Understand Costs and Funding
A typical college budget includes tuition and fees, housing and meals, books and supplies, transportation, and personal expenses.
Schreiner provides a strong commitment to affordability. Transfer students may be eligible for academic scholarships and financial aid. Most students receive financial assistance, and Schreiner offers special support for first-generation and Hill Country students.

Academic Advising
Transfer students are paired with professional and faculty advisors who support your academic planning and success. Your advisor will:

Review how your previous coursework transfers toward your intended degree

Assist in building your course schedule

Serve as a mentor until you declare a major and transition to a faculty advisor
Academic advising begins in early December for Spring entry and early June for Fall entry. You will receive advisor contact information via your Schreiner email.

Student Visa Information
Request Your I-20 for F-1 Visa
To study at Schreiner as an F-1 student, you will need to complete the Initial I-20 Request Form. Once approved, your I-20 will be issued and sent to you for use in your visa appointment.
Transfer Students in F-1 Status
If you are transferring from a U.S. institution, you must provide your F-1 SEVIS Transfer Form to your current Designated School Official (DSO) to release your SEVIS record to Schreiner University.
Other Visa or Immigration Classifications
If you hold a different visa type, submit the Other Visa/Status Information Form so our International Student Services team can determine whether you will need to change your status or apply for an F-1 visa.

Schreiner offers a summer pre-arrival virtual orientation session just for international students. This session includes:

Get Acquainted with Schreiner Academics
First-Year Seminar (FYS)
All first-year students participate in Schreiner’s First-Year Seminar, an interdisciplinary course designed to develop critical thinking, writing, and discussion skills while exploring engaging topics.
You will receive more information about FYS in May and will have the opportunity to rank your topic preferences.
Academic Advising
Schreiner provides personalized advising for all international students. Your advisor will:

Help review transfer credits and plan your first semester

Guide you through Schreiner’s academic policies and registration
-
Support your transition to college-level coursework in the U.S.
You will be contacted by your advisor in early June to begin planning your schedule.
Placement Assessments
Some students may be required to take placement exams in math, writing, or foreign languages to ensure proper course placement. You will receive instructions if this applies to you.

International Student Move-In and Orientation
Move-In Day: August 18, 2026
International Student Orientation: August 18–20, 2026
International Student Orientation is required for F-1 students and will include:

Students will move into their residence halls on August 18, with assistance from the International Mentors and staff.
