Schreiner University offers students the opportunity to complete their degree after attending another institution. Whether you’re coming from a community college or another 4-year university, we can help you transfer with confidence and continue your education. We accept credits from all accredited colleges and universities and will let you know how those credits apply to a specific degree plan of your choice.
Transfer students are also eligible for up to $24,000 a year in scholarships. Plus, there’s no extra step – your application to Schreiner is also your scholarship application!

Schreiner University bases admission decisions on holistic applications, including GPA and transferred credits. SAT or ACT scores, essays, letters of recommendation, and resumes are optional and may be requested by the Admission Committee.
- Transfer students can apply at ApplyTexas or through the Schreiner University application here.
- Application fee of $25 which can be paid online or over the phone at 830-792-7303.
- Official College Transcripts from ALL institutions: Transcripts can be sent directly from other colleges to admissions@schreiner.edu. Official transcripts can also be mailed to:

- If a student has a GPA below a 2.0, the student will be sent to our admissions committee for review. Additional items may be requested from the student, which could include:
- Essay
- Personal Statement
- Resume

Away from Schreiner for only one semester, have not received college credits anywhere else since attending Schreiner University, and left in good standing: Student must submit an Intent to Return Form instead of an application.

Away from Schreiner for more than one semester, received college credits from another institution since attending Schreiner University, or did not leave in good standing: Student must re-apply as a returner.

Direct Returner: A student who has not received college credits anywhere else since attending Schreiner University and wishes to return.

Indirect Returner: A student who has received college credits from another institution since attending Schreiner University and wishes to return.

After receiving your acceptance to Schreiner University, you will need to take the following steps to become an official Mountaineer!
- Pay your $100 nonrefundable commitment deposit online on your Schreiner One account or over the phone with Financial Services (830-792-7303).
- Register for Transfer Orientation on Schreiner One here.
- Sign up for housing or, if you qualify, complete the commuter form, on your Schreiner One account.
- Complete your financial aid on your Schreiner One and set up payment arrangements for any remaining balance.
- Complete your Health History Form on your Schreiner One account.
- Submit your Meningitis Vaccination record to health@schreiner.edu.
- After your admissions counselor has sent you your transcript evaluation, you can use these instructions to view your transferable credits: Transcript Eval Instructions

A statewide system used by 137 colleges and universities to standardize lower-division courses. If a course has a TCCNS number, it will transfer as its equivalent course at Schreiner and other participating institutions. - TES Public View
A searchable database showing course transfer evaluations completed by Schreiner. Use it to explore how specific courses from your college apply toward Schreiner programs.
