What Is Real Estate Certification?
In Texas, earning a real estate license requires 180 hours of coursework approved by the Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC). While many programs focus only on meeting minimum requirements, Schreiner University’s program goes further—preparing students not only to pass the exam, but to confidently enter the profession.

Ginger Unger, CCIM – a seasoned professional and prominent figure in commercial and residential real estate. As the owner of Secor One Commercial Group, Ginger oversees all leasing and brokerage operations, exhibiting exceptional expertise in her field. Since establishing her brokerage in 2005, she has been at the helm of handling brokerage and development, showcasing her astute understanding of the industry.
Ginger’s journey in real estate began with her involvement in the family construction business, where she contributed to the development of residential and commercial properties. This extensive experience encompasses residential developments, including townhomes, as well as shopping centers, office parks, industrial warehouses, and hotels. Her unique perspective on investment holdings stems from her ownership of various investment properties, adding a valuable dimension to her insights.

Specializing in development and brokerage within the San Antonio area, Ginger Unger, CCIM, brings a wealth of knowledge. Her curriculum encompasses various essential topics in commercial real estate, including ethics, negotiations, financial analysis, market analysis, user decision analysis, and investment analysis. By covering these areas comprehensively, she ensures that her students are well-versed in the industry’s practical and theoretical aspects.
To earn the prestigious CCIM designation, Ginger underwent a rigorous process that attests to her proficiency in practice and theory. This designation requires the submission of a portfolio of qualifying transactions that demonstrate the depth of her knowledge and the application of CCIM skill sets. With her extensive background, Ginger has completed numerous real estate transactions of millions of dollars. Her experience encompasses tenant and landlord representation, commercial development, and market and financial analysis for investment properties.
Beyond her success in the real estate realm, Ginger Unger, CCIM, has dedicated several years to instructing commercial and residential classes for agents, brokers, underwriters, and investors in Texas. Recognized as a Senior Instructor with Texas Realtors, she shares her expertise through various means. Ginger has authored commercial courses and offers these classes to agents and brokers in Texas. Additionally, she contracts out as a real estate expert witness, further demonstrating her depth of knowledge and credibility.
Ginger’s dedication to her craft has not gone unnoticed. In 2007, she earned the coveted CCIM designation, a testament to her outstanding professional achievements. The CCIM designation is an exclusive honor reserved for an elite group of real estate experts within the global real estate network. Furthermore, Ginger was nominated for the Instructor of the Year award through Texas Realtors and the Austin Board of Realtors, solidifying her reputation as an exceptional educator. Holding the Gold Standard Instructor Designation – REEA and the CREI certification through the Texas Real Estate Education Association, Ginger continues to empower aspiring professionals in the industry.
