Kerrville, TX – Schreiner Institute at Schreiner University will be conducting a wreath-laying ceremony in conjunction with Wreaths Across America at 11: a.m. on Dec. 17, at Glen Rest Cemetery – 2000 Memorial Blvd in Kerrville. Schreiner Institute asks that the community help them Remember, Honor and Teach by volunteering or inviting friends to help lay wreaths on the gravesites of all veterans at the Glen Rest Cemetery.
Wreaths Across America will be at Glen Rest Cemetery to Remember and Honor our veterans through the laying of Remembrance Wreaths on the graves of our country’s fallen heroes and the act of saying the name of each and every veteran aloud. All locations registered to participate in National Wreaths Across America Day will take part in this national event that endeavors to honor every interred American veteran with a live, balsam veteran’s wreath.
In 2021, 2.4 million veterans’ wreaths were placed in total across the country at 3,137 participating locations. More than two million volunteers helped place wreaths, a third of whom were children. Local volunteer groups and individuals give back to your community and help to share the year-round mission to Remember the fallen, Honor those that serve and their families, and Teach the next generation the value of freedom.
