For its commitment to effective environmental stewardship, sustainability, and community engagement, Schreiner University achieved the designation of 2023 Tree Campus Higher Education from the Arbor Day Foundation! This award was presented in April of 2024 and the campus will continue to practice high standards to retain this distinction.
To receive this distinction, Schreiner University met the Arbor Day Foundation’s five core standards:
- Establishing a tree advisory committee
- Developing a comprehensive campus tree-care plan
- Dedicating annual funds for its campus tree program
- Observing Arbor Day with campus-wide activities
- Implementing a student service-learning project
