As a kinesiologist, Dr. McAlexander educates individuals and communities about living well and serving others. She has over 25 years of experience as a personal trainer and coach and has been teaching in higher education at various universities and colleges across Texas for over 20 years. Her research interests include obesity prevention and treatment among vulnerable populations and wellness promotion in urban and rural settings. She holds a PhD in Kinesiology from the University of Houston, a Master of Art in Kinesiology and Education from Sam Houston State University and a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from Texas A&M University.  Dr. McAlexander currently serves as an Associate Professor of Exercise Science and Sport Management.
