Schreiner University Welcomes Carla Fikes for Summerlin Visiting Artist Series

Schreiner University will welcome acclaimed artist and entrepreneur Carla Fikes, founder of Carbonlily Entertainment Group, as the featured guest for the Summerlin Visiting Artist Series on March 4–5, 2026 .

Fikes will engage students and the Kerrville community through a series of events designed to inspire creativity, professional development, and artistic expression.

On Wednesday, March 4, Fikes will lead a Creative Career Workshop from 1:00–4:30 p.m. in CCAC Ballroom 3. The workshop is designed to help students explore pathways in the creative industries and build sustainable careers rooted in purpose and innovation .

Later that evening, Fikes will present an Artist Talk at 5:30 p.m. in the CCAC Ballroom, sharing insights from her career as a performer, producer, and founder of Carbonlily Entertainment Group .

The series will conclude on Thursday, March 5, with a live performance featuring Fikes and The Etta at 5:30 p.m. at Trailhead Beer Garden .

The Summerlin Visiting Artist Series is funded by the Summerlin Visiting Artist Chair, which honors former Schreiner University President Dr. Tim Summerlin and commemorates the memory of his nephews, Reuben and Daniel Summerlin .
