Schreiner University to Host 2021 Applied Sport Management Association Conference

Kerrville, TX – The Schreiner University Department of Exercise Science and Sport Management is excited to serve as the virtual host institution for the 2021 Applied Sport Management Association Conference. The conference will be held Feb 24-26 and will consist of over 140 video presentations and over 200 virtual attendees. This year’s conference director is Dr. Matthew Robinson, Assistant Professor of Exercise Science and Sport Management at Schreiner University, and conference organizing chair is Schreiner University sophomore, Annie Wallace.

Started in 2009, ASMA aims to bring together scholars in sport and practitioners in the sport industry. The conference provides an environment where developing and established scholars and sport business professionals can foster relationships and conversations to further the field of sport management. In addition to the traditional conference programming which has focused primarily on the academics in sport, an “industry interviews” category has been added as a feature to conference programming in 2021. These interviews feature practitioners from a variety of areas in the sport industry with an aim to focus on practical application in the area of sport.
