Connor-Royer is a World Champion Women’s Skeet shooter, and multiple time World Cup medalist. She is a USA Shooting National Shotgun Team Member and a USA Shooting Shotgun World Championship Team Member in Women’s Skeet. In 2018 Connor-Royer was voted Team USA Athlete of the Month, won the President’s Cup in the 2022 World Cup final, and is the 2022 International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) Golden Target Award Winner.

The Louisiana native holds a Sociology/Criminology Bachelor’s Degree, with a minor in Political Science from Louisiana State University. She earned an Associates of Science in Criminal Justice, and is a DeVry University Graduate with a dual Master’s in Public Administration (government management) and Business Administration.

At Schreiner University, the Shotgun Team is a varsity sports team that is a three-time national champion. The 20-person team roster now competes in Division I.

As Head Coach, Connor-Royer’s philosophy is “quality over quantity.”

“I have always trained quality over quantity,” she said. “I like to make sure we have a good training plan before we go out to the field, so we’re not just going out there and shooting up ammo. Most of our shooters aren’t specializing in just one area of shotgun shooting. They have to be pretty decent in the different areas of American Trap, American Skeet, and Sporting Clays.”

Connor-Royer plans to be heavily involved in recruiting, eventually building the team up to 30 shooters. She considers the attractions of attending Schreiner University to include weather that allows year-round shooting, use of the former US Olympic Training site Hill Country Shooting Sports Center, and proximity to the National Shooting Complex in San Antonio, which hosts the Collegiate National Championships.

Connor-Royer has plans to continue competing on the world stage, with one particular goal.

“My goal is to make an Olympic team. I have been the alternate a couple of times, just not made that Olympic team just yet. But definitely, I would say I’m shooting to be an Olympic hopeful in 2028.”
