Schreiner University Announces Record Fall Enrollment, Historic Freshman Class

University reaches 1,572 students at Fall 2026 census, including 472 first-time freshmen; undergraduate and graduate enrollment reach historic highs

Schreiner University has reached a new enrollment milestone, reporting 1,572 students at the Fall 2026 census, an increase of 102 students from the previous year.

The university’s total enrollment increased from 1,470 students at the Fall 2025 census to 1,572 in Fall 2026, representing year-over-year growth of approximately 7 percent.

A major contributor to that growth is Schreiner’s incoming freshman class. The university enrolled 472 first-time freshmen this fall, compared with 432 in Fall 2025, an increase of 40 students, or more than 9 percent.

Our faculty remains committed to providing both a timely and relevant education, as well as a timeless and transcendent educational experience,” Schreiner University President Dr. Charlie McCormick said. “Students come to Schreiner to be both challenged and to experience the sense of sanctuary that only a college within the Hill Country can provide. We will lean in to all these hopes and expectations in order to provide our graduates with confidence and capacity as they face an unscripted future.”

Growth was also reflected across Schreiner’s broader student population, with both undergraduate and graduate enrollment reaching the highest levels in the university’s history.

Undergraduate enrollment reached a record 1,365 students, an increase of 63 students from Fall 2025. Graduate enrollment also reached a record high with 207 students, representing an increase of 39 students and more than 23 percent year-over-year growth.

“Schreiner University has seen significant growth in applications for admission, leading to record-breaking new student enrollment,” said Alan Liebrecht, Vice President for Enrollment Management. “This strong demand reflects the university’s dedication to offering relevant, high-quality programs that serve the evolving needs of students throughout the region and beyond.”

The Fall 2026 enrollment results reflect continued momentum for Schreiner as the university expands academic opportunities, strengthens the student experience and introduces new programs designed to meet the needs of students and the communities it serves.

The growth comes during a significant period for the university, including the continued expansion of academic and student-life opportunities and the launch of Schreiner University football.
