Schreiner Institute Celebrates First ROTC Cadet to Earn U.S. Air Force Commission

Schreiner Institute proudly marks a historic achievement as Cadet Caylor Jones becomes the first cadet in the Institute’s ROTC program to receive a commission in the United States Air Force.

“This is a defining moment for Schreiner Institute,” said Mrs. Chastity Howard, Schreiner Institute ROTC Coordinator. “Second Lieutenant Jones has demonstrated exceptional dedication, leadership, and perseverance. This achievement sets a new precedent for our program and future cadets.”

Jones was officially commissioned as a Second Lieutenant during a ceremony held on May 22, 2026, representing a milestone for both the cadet and the continued growth of Schreiner Institute’s ROTC program.

The commissioning reflects years of intensive academic rigor, leadership development, and military training. Throughout his time in the Schreiner Institute ROTC program, Jones served as the Cadet Commander and did so with a commitment to excellence and service.

The Schreiner Institute ROTC program continues to expand its impact by preparing students for leadership roles in military service. This first Air Force commission highlights the strength of the program and its mission to develop capable and disciplined officers.

“This accomplishment reflects the dedication of our cadets and the vision of our program,” added Mr. Mark Miller, Director of Schreiner Institute. “We look forward to building on this success and continuing to produce future leaders for our nation.”
