Alumni Newsletter: Letter from Lea Nye, Alumni Relations

Last week, Schreiner held its biannual Campus Beautification Day, with students and staff planting flowers, cleaning windows, and painting fresh paws around the loop. It is a tradition that gets us outside and reminds me that spring is a season of renewal.

I feel that same spirit in this time of year, from longer days to the reflection of Lent, inviting us to pause, take stock, and prepare for what lies ahead. At Schreiner, renewal and reunion go hand in hand, as alumni continue to return home to campus.

Recall 2026 is April 24 – 26, and we would love to see you. Join us as we celebrate together and honor the Golden Class of 1976 and the Silver Class of 2001.

We also invite you to the Jane Ragsdale Memorial Polo Celebration on April 18, a special opportunity to return to the river and support Schreiner’s Equestrian Team.

Be sure to read Dr. McCormick’s update on the expansion of Learning Support Services into Schreiner’s first Center of Excellence, CEALS, and learn how you can support the Cornerstone Campaign through letters from Mark Tuschak and me. As alumni, you play an important role in sharing these exciting developments.

As always, I hope you enjoy Class Notes and take time to reflect on the lives remembered in our In Memoriam section.

This spring also brings a meaningful transition in our Advancement Office. After more than 22 years of service, Administrative Specialist Susan Carver will retire at the end of May. Many of you have experienced her warmth and dedication firsthand. Susan has been a gift to Schreiner, and we are deeply grateful for the impact she has made on our alumni community.
