Kyle McLeroy Named Head Coach of Schreiner Men’s Basketball

KERRVILLE, TEXAS — Schreiner University is proud to announce the hiring of Kyle McLeroy as the new Head Coach of the Men’s Basketball program. A rising figure in collegiate coaching, McLeroy brings with him a proven track record in player development, competitive success, and recruitment across multiple levels of NCAA basketball.

“We are excited to add Kyle McLeroy as our new basketball coach,” said Bill Raleigh, Athletic Director. “He brings a tremendous amount of recruiting experience in Texas. Furthermore, he has been on the coaching staff of successful programs as well as worked with some great head coaches. I believe that he is the coach to continue the success of our men’s basketball program.”

Most recently, McLeroy was part of the coaching staff at UT Dallas, where he played a key role in the Comets’ 2024 ASC Co-Regular Season Championship, 2024 ASC Tournament Championship, and a first-round NCAA Tournament victory over Trinity University—on Trinity’s home court.

Previously, McLeroy served at Newman University, where he helped rebuild the program with a 50% improvement in wins over two seasons and mentored two All-MIAA selections. His tenure at Dallas Baptist University (DBU) was equally impressive, helping guide the Patriots to back-to-back NCAA Division II Tournament appearances and developing the top three scorers in program history.

McLeroy’s appointment opens a new chapter for Schreiner Men’s Basketball—one that emphasizes competitive excellence, Texas-based recruiting strength, and a continued tradition of shaping scholar-athletes who embody the spirit of the Hill Country.
