SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The Assistant Director for Auxiliary Services, Marketing and Retail Sales will lead and execute our digital marketing and e-commerce sales strategy. This role is responsible for driving online and brick and mortar store revenue growth, increasing brand visibility, and optimizing the customer journey across all digital channels. The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution and has a strong understanding of e-commerce, digital marketing, sales performance analytics and a strong in store and online sales. This person will collaborate with the Assistant Director for Schreiner Outfitters and the Mail Center. They will work together in the brick-and-mortar store, pop up stores at our athletic games, plus assist with buying the merchandise for the store. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys engaging with customers, has a creative eye for promotions, and thrives in a fast-paced retail environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Ensures Auxiliary Services provides the highest quality services to students, faculty, staff, and external customers.
- Ensures the Schreiner University Standards are met in each essential function of the Auxiliary Services components.
- Fiscal Management and stewardship of Auxiliary Services enterprises to include goal setting and achievement strategies.
- Develop and execute comprehensive online marketing strategies aligned with Schreiner Outfitters’ brand and revenue goals.
- Manage digital campaigns across channels including email, social media, paid search, display advertising, and SEO. Photo and video editing skills using tools such as Canva, Cap Cut and other platforms.
- Oversee content strategy to ensure consistent brand messaging across web, email, and social platforms.
- Collaborate with the Director and Assistant Director to support product launches, promotions, and seasonal campaigns.
- Manages and optimizes the company’s e-commerce platform to drive conversions, average order value, and customer retention.
- Analyze sales performance, customer behavior, and traffic data to identify growth opportunities.
- Implement pricing, promotions, and merchandising strategies to maximize online sales.
- Ensure a seamless and engaging online customer experience from acquisition through checkout and post-purchase.
- Coordinate cross-functionally to align online marketing efforts with inventory, fulfillment, and customer support.
- Strengthening Schreiner Outfitters’ online brand presence and community engagement.
- Develop strategies to grow email lists, loyalty programs, and repeat customers.
- Monitor customer feedback and market trends to inform strategy and innovation.
- Works with Assistant Director on the Pop-Up Stores and Games and Events.
- Works with the Assistant Director on hiring, orientation, training and supervision on interns and student workers.
- Meets projected deadlines and manages multiple tasks.
- Works with the director on the operations of Schreiner Outfitters, including purchasing collegiate wear, general merchandise, receiving and shipping, and return of overstocked or defective merchandise.
- Works with the Director and the Assistant Director to manage the yearly inventory, utilizing the POS system to check for theft and shrinkage.
- Evaluates operational procedures/polices and helps to develop and implement new strategies for these areas.
ESSENTIAL OTHER FUNCTIONS
- Understands and supports processing of the mail and coordination in the mail center. The ability to learn mailroom software and mail platforms.
- Ensure safety standards are met when processing goods, packages, and mail.
- Maintains University safety rules.
- Helps the Director to market the event services department to campus and our external community.
- Represents the University with community service groups and various professional associations.
- Convey information clearly and accurately.
- Strong computers skills.
- Open to a variety of people/experiences.
- Ability to work nights and weekends.
- Ability to think critically and solve problems efficiently.
- Understands the importance of “a polished product”.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing or business administration or related field preferred.
- Four years progressively responsible, professional experience related to the area of assignment, including two years of lead or supervisory experience.
- Demonstrated organizational skills and ability.
- Experienced in Microsoft Office Suites programs.
- Ability to clearly communicate verbally and in written form.
- Professional demeanor on phone, ability to politely manage a variety of customers.
- Ability to learn quickly and with minimal guidance.
- Must have a valid Texas driver’s license, related insurance, and safe driving record.
