Adjunct Instructor of Mathematics

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities of an Adjunct Faculty member in Mathematics include delivering course content, conducting lectures, and facilitating discussions in undergraduate courses as assigned. The adjunct instructor’s role also includes grading assignments, exams, and other assessments in a reasonable time period, developing syllabi according to the department’s standards, maintaining attendance, and submitting final grades. Additionally, adjuncts are responsible for holding office hours and communicating with students via Schreiner LMS and email.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to read computer screens and mail, email, and talk on the phone.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality as it pertains to students grades.
  • Ability to meet classes at regularly scheduled times.
  • Working conditions for in-person adjuncts include lecture halls and adjunct offices

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Required Master’s degree in Mathematics or a similar degree with at least 18 graduate hours in mathematics
  • Preferred experience working with Canvas
  • Preferred teaching experience at college level
