Position Title: Accounting Work-Study Level II
Department: Accounting & Business Services Tom Murray Gardent Level
Reports To: Senior Accountant

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

The Work Study Level II position provides accounting support by assisting with accounts payable entries, including the review, data entry, and processing of invoices and supporting documentation, as well as assisting with accounts receivable entries to ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions. The role also supports the accounting function through general administrative and clerical duties, such as filing financial records, data entry, and other tasks
assigned to maintain organized and accurate accounting records.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assist with accounts payable entries, including data entry of invoices and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with accounts receivable entries to ensure accurate and timely posting of financial transactions.
  • Maintain organized and accurate financial records in accordance with departmental procedures.
  • Perform basic data entry and filing related to accounting and financial documents.
  • Provide general administrative and clerical support to the accounting function as assigned.
  • Assist office staff with general support functions assigned to ensure efficient daily operations.
  • Follow established procedures and maintain professionalism when handling documents and information.

  • Perform duties in compliance with university and departmental guidelines.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Be enrolled as full-time student at Schreiner University
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles
  • Basic organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to follow instructions and office procedures
  • Basic computer skills such as email, data entry, filing systems
  • Effective verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to manage tiem and complete tasks independently
