Position Title: Accounting Work-Study Level I
Department: Accounting & Business Services Tom Murray Gardent Level
Reports To: Senior Accountant

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

The Work Study Level I position is responsible for maintaining and organizing physical and electronic filing systems to support accurate recordkeeping and efficient document retrieval. This role also includes opening, sorting, and distributing incoming mail in a timely and confidential manner. In addition, the position provides general administrative and clerical support, such as filing, data entry, copying, and assisting with other routine office tasks as assigned to support daily operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Maintain and organize physical and electronic filing systems to ensure accurate and accessible records.
  • Open, sort, and distribute incoming mail in a timely and confidential manner.
  • Perform routine administrative and clerical tasks such as filing, copying, scanning, and data entry.
  • Assist office staff with general support functions assigned to ensure efficient daily operations.
  • Follow established procedures and maintain professionalism when handling documents and information.

  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance in accordance with assigned work schedule.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, courtesy, and respect when interacting with staff, students, and visitors.
  • Follow office policies, procedures, and confidentiality requirements at all times.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and ask questions when clarification is needed.
  • Manage time effectively and complete assigned tasks accurately and on time.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn new tasks and accept feedback.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Perform duties in compliance with university and departmental guidelines.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Be enrolled as full-time student at Schreiner University.
  • Basic organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to follow instructions and office procedures
  • Basic computer skills such as email, data entry, filing systems
  • Effective verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to manage tiem and complete tasks independently
