
Schreiner University offers courses leading to a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Technology (CIT). This is designed to align the technology degree offerings of Schreiner University with the professional needs of employers and be competitive with the academic offerings of peer institutions. The Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Technology degree program offers two concentration track options in the CIT major:
- Cyber Security
- Programming
The program utilizes existing facilities and managerial structure within the Department of Business & Technology in the School of Professional Studies. The program is designed to prepare students for the important roles in IT Security demanded in a dynamic real-world environment.
The program is focused on providing knowledge and skills to apply the principles and concepts related to the development and management of secure information systems and technology at the enterprise and individual levels, locally and globally. The program is designed for students who realize the necessity of delivering value to customers through secure information technology systems. The degree provides students with theoretical, practical, and applied skills in computer-based information systems and the technologies that support them, as well as a broad perspective of the business and management environments in which information system technologies play a strategic role.
Cyber Security Learning Community
Incoming freshman to the Mathematics program who are considering a career in Cyber Security are encouraged to join our Cyber Security Learning Community as their freshman studies class to gain not only mentoring from senior students, but real world application experience.
