Welcome to the 222 newest members of the Schreiner Former Students Association!

The Class of May 2026 officially joined the SFSA during Commencement, where SFSA President Tony Capella ’68 welcomed them into the alumni family.

A special thank you to Maggie Rios ’13, Schreiner’s May 2026 Commencement Speaker, for inspiring our graduates with a powerful message about having the courage to commit to their convictions as they begin the next chapter of their lives.

Congratulations to Elizabeth (Perdue) Holling ’04 who received the Colorado Council of Teachers of Mathematics (CCTM) Middle School Teacher of the Year Award!  Wow!  Thank you Elizabeth for living a purposeful life and making such a difference in the lives of your students!  We are SO PROUD of you!

We received a great email from Sam Snoek-Brown ’99!

While in the area visiting family, I recently joined Dr. William Woods’s poetry class for a morning literary discussion. Dr. Woods was an important mentor in my years at Schreiner and remains a dear friend and a valuable influence on my own teaching. After his class, I wandered the library to reminisce about my time at Schreiner, and I met a few students who were eager to share their enthusiasm for Schreiner and what their education and the community at Schreiner means to them, and I reflected on how much I related to them. As I told those students, I feel like my adult life truly began at Schreiner, largely thanks to the mentorship of professors like William Woods, David Breeden, Kathleen Hudson, Loren Scribner, Diana Comuzzie, Ron Zarychta, Daniel Swensen, and so many other professors whose patience and guidance led me into my career as a college professor and author.

Congratulations to Brian Peterson ‘99, Phillip Read ’00 & ‘19, Troy Dusek ’00 and Tommy Fair (husband of Tami Fair ’01) for their big win at The Randy Shepler Alumni Golf Tournament, Presented in Memory of John C. Hamilton, Jr.

Way to go guys!

Did you know that 100% of the funds raised from the Alumni Golf Tournament held during Recall supports the Schreiner Former Students Association Endowment?!  The Recall Golf Tournament is not just a great time with your friends, it also is a concrete way to give back to Schreiner students!

Check out the update we received from Tammi Clanton Bingham ’88, ’98, ‘18

After spending 2024-2025 back at our beloved alma mater and then returning to New Mexico last summer, my husband, Blake, and I packed up and moved from 9,000 feet above sea level to New Orleans, where we are barely above sea level on a good day! We traded snow and mountains for heat and humidity, and honestly, I couldn’t be happier!

In December, I joined Tulane University in the communications and marketing department and returned to my roots in event planning and management. I just completed my first commencement season, and it was amazing! Think New Orleans Superdome, 3,000 graduates, live jazz music, a second line, and celebrity commencement speaker (Sterling K. Brown). Tulane definitely knows how to throw a New Orleans-style celebration!

Blake recently obtained his Louisiana real estate license and still maintains an active New Mexico license as well. Kerrville and Schreiner will always feel like home to me, but I am absolutely loving life in New Orleans right now.

We are planning to come home for SU Homecoming in October, and I can’t wait to watch some Mountaineer football. Go ’Neers!

Thanks Tammi!  We cannot wait to see you at Homecoming on October 3, 2026!

Awwww!!  Samantha Tello ’20 & ’22 and Reagan Schott ’22 are married!

Here is the update Sam sent us:

Hello, my husband and I are Schreiner Alumni. Samantha Schott Graduated in 2020 with my Bachelor of Arts in multidisciplinary studies with my teacher certification EC-6 and graduated in 2022 with my Master of Education in Educational Leadership.  My husband Reagan Schott graduated with his Bachelor of Science in 2022. We met in the fall of 2018, dated for four years until we got engaged in 2022.  We got married in February of 2023. We had our baby boy in February of 2024! February holds a special place in our hearts forever.  We currently live in San Antonio. I am currently working as a 1st grade teacher. I have been teaching for 6 years. Reagan has been working as a Registered Behavior Technician for the past 3 years. He is currently working towards his Masters Degree and hopes to become a Board Certified Behavioral Analyst.  He should finish in December. Life is busy, but we love it!

Congratulations to Megan (McDonald) Vosters ’02 who was named Elementary Teacher of the Year for Lumberton, ISD. Here’s what district leadership had to say about her:

As a Kindergarten teacher at Lumberton Early Childhood School, Megan Vosters brings 15 years of experience and a passion for early learning to her classroom. A graduate of Schreiner University, she has expanded her certifications to include ESL, Physical Education, and Gifted & Talented.

Megan has been recognized as a KFDM School Spotlight Winner, named Employee of the Month multiple times, and received a Lumberton ISD Education Foundation Grant in 2022. She is also an advocate for public education, serving on the district’s Legislative Committee.

Her classroom is a place where warmth meets structure, curiosity is encouraged, and every child is valued. Megan believes kindergarten is where confidence begins and dreams take shape—and she works daily to ensure her students leave feeling capable, supported, and inspired.

Well Done, Megan!  Continue to let your light shine bright!

Richard Coronado, ’03, ’13 sent us a picture of his Pride and Joy!

Hello fellow Schreiner Alumni –

Things are going well. Busy with work and my kids’ activities. My oldest, Drake, had a great football season and made it to regionals in track for the 2nd consecutive year. He already has several offers to continue to play quarterback (Schreiner offered in February) and will have a busy summer of training, recruiting, camps as he nears his college decision. Expect a big senior season. My younger son, Hendrix also had a great year and was named MVP for the 7th grade football team. He is also a quarterback. Wishing everyone all the best.

Richard serves on the Schreiner Former Students Association Board of Directors!  If you would like to know more about serving the SFSA Board, please contact Lea Nye at mmnye@schreiner.edu.

(And fingers crossed that Drake picks Schreiner!)
