Position Title: Athletic Training Work-Study Level 1
Department: Athletics
Reports To: Full-time Athletic Trainer/s (approval through AAD)
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
- Practice/game set-up and take down
- Maintenance of the Athletic Training Room
- Assisting treatments/rehabilitation exercises
- Assisting with coverage of practices/games
- Organizational responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Manage and maintain safety for athletes utilizing the athletic training room during treatment hours.
- Manage and maintain proper protocols for all athletes in the athletic training room.
- Help with coverage of athletic events.
ADDITIONAL REQUIRD EXPECTATIONS
- Good communication skills
- Arrive on time
- Ability to lift heavy coolers/ice chests
- Ability to work well with others
- Good people skills
- Professional interactions with supervisors and others
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
Be enrolled as full-time student at Schreiner University.
-Preferred to have at least one year of experience as a student athletic trainer at the high school level.
-Skills:
- CPR/AED certification preferred but not required
- High school student athletic training experience always a plus, but not required
- Must have good people skills and good work ethic
- Must be able to lift heavy coolers and ice chests
- Following the directions of your supervisors is very important, especially in an emergency situation
