Position Title: Hill Country Chapter, Texas Master Naturalists (the “Chapter”), Audio Visual Assistant, Work-Study
Reports To: Frank Garcia, AV Team Lead for the Chapter

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

Attends monthly Chapter meetings to assist AV Team Lead in use of Zoom and various AV equipment to enable “hybrid” Chapter meetings.

The student would help with set up and take down of the AV equipment before and after the Chapter meeting as well as staffing the Zoom chat room during the meeting. The student might be asked to help troubleshoot AV, Zoom, or other IT issues that may arise during the meeting.

Chapter meetings are typically held on the fourth Monday of each month starting at 6:00 p.m. and ending at 8:00 p.m. so the student would typically report to work at 5:00 p.m. and be done around 8:30 p.m.

We would also ask for up to four hours to train/mentor AV Team Lead with using correct protocols with our AV equipment and practices for hybrid meetings if required

The Chapter meeting venues will rotate between Boerne, Kerrville, Fredericksburg, and Bandera. Exact locations are shown on the Chapter’s website here:

Chapter meetings are usually attended by a total of 70 – 100 people, evenly split between in-person and online attendees.

Dress is casual. Snacks are usually available prior to meetings. Speakers cover various topics that may be of interest to students interested in wildlife biology or related fields.

Additional opportunity to assist with AV at Chapter training classes to be held starting in March for approximately 4 hours each Thursday evening.
