Riley Jones-Trinity Award for Excellence in Teaching

Riley Jones graduated from Schreiner in 2018 with her BA in Education. She was named Schreiner’s student teacher of the year in May 2018. During her first year of teaching Riley completed Schreiner’s Masters in Education program and graduated in May of 2019 with her MEd. She has been teaching 8th grade Algebra at Legacy Middle School at East Central ISD in San Antonio, Texas since graduating in 2018. Over the three years she has been teaching, Riley was able to impact many at risk youth and make a difference in a Title 1 school. Riley Jones was named the East Central ISD District Teacher of the Year for the 2020-2021 school year. She then went on to be awarded the Trinity Award for Excellence in Teaching. Riley loves to share her passion as an educator and impact students in many ways far beyond her classroom. She continues to find new and innovative ways of teaching and is a trailblazer in education.

Dr. Joan Bowman Associate Professor in Education and Coordinator of the Principal as Instructional Leader Program. – research and presentations in instructional technology and innovative online learning. Dr. Bowman uses her prior experience in public school administrative leadership to train and prepare future educational leaders.

Dr. Chanelle Maynard

Dr. Chanelle Maynard Assistant Professor in Education – Dr. Chanelle Maynard’s research is in technology integration in literacy, and elements of reading and writing instruction with a focus on STR. She has worked as an instructional coach, reading specialist, and an elementary and middle school teacher. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Education specializing in reading and SPED education courses.

Dr. Doug Monk Assistant Professor in Education- research and presentations in principal preparation. Dr. Monk teaches and supervises pre-service teachers and prepares principal candidates for the state certification exams. As a former teacher and administrator in Texas public schools, he ensures the success of our future professional educators and leaders.

Dr. Cramer teaches in the MEd and Med plus Teacher Certification program. She is dedicated to helping prepare future professional educators.   Dr. Cramer specializes in teaching and learning through the arts.  With a background in the performing arts, Dr. Neva has combined her interests and studies to promote literacy through local, regional, and statewide school seminars and workshops, through presentations for the International Literacy Association, the National Council Of Teacher Educators, Texas Association of Literacy Educators, Texas ASCD,  National Association of Supervision and Curriculum, CSOTTE,  The College Board, and other organizations. She spent five years at Louisiana State University as an instructor for teacher training classes and university supervisor of student teachers. She has over twenty years of experience as a professional educator in the areas of theatre, speech, secondary English, reading and language arts. She is currently an associate professor and the Director of Education and Graduate Studies in Education at Schreiner University
