This celebration of all things Texas continues the legacy of stories and songs as “another way of learning” started by the legendary Dr. Kathleen Hudson more than 30 years ago. The Texas Center at Schreiner University renews this tradition through showcasing Texas culture, heritage, and history. The next generation of Texas leaders will come from these hills and valleys—and this event is our gift to the region and the state as natives and newcomers alike find their place in the story and song of Texas.

TEXFEST | Friday Night After Dark: Join us for our Dead Texans Tour and learn the stories of some of Glen Rest Cemetery’s most famous residents.

WHAT TO EXPECT:
Performers and demonstrations will introduce visitors to the rich traditions in our Texas
heritage — from trick roping to harmonica lessons to firing a cannon, there is something for everyone. Hungry? You are invited to bring
a picnic or use the food truck.

SCHOOLS & EDUCATORS:
Bring your students! Lesson plans are available, as are CPE credits for time spent on site. There is also a YouTube Channel (The Texas Center and Don Frazier) with Texas History content.
