Schreiner Announces Fall Graduation Speakers–Riggs, Clark-Porter

Kerrville, TX – Schreiner University will hold its Fall 2019 Commencement Ceremony on Fri, Dec 13, at 10 a.m. in the Schreiner University Events Center. The Baccalaureate and Blessing of the Hoods Ceremony will take place on Thurs, Dec 12, at 5p.m. in the Schreiner University Events Center.

Reverend Clark-PorterThe Reverend Clark-Porter will serve as the guest speaker for the Baccalaureate Ceremony. She is a graduate of Schreiner University and Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary. She has served as the pastor of Calvary Presbyterian, Wilmington, DE and as a funeral chaplain at McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, DE, but recently moved to El Paso, TX, and serves as co-pastor of Grace Presbyterian Church.

Koral Riggs - Sports2NiteKoral Riggs will be the Commencement Speaker for Fall 2019. Riggs is a South Texas native and a graduate of Schreiner University in May 2018. Riggs played collegiate softball and graduated with a degree in Communications and a minor in Sport Communication and Sport Management.

After her four years at Schreiner, she was able to dive into her career as soon as the Monday after graduation as an intern with Sports2Nite, a TV show based out of San Antonio, which airs every single day, 3 times a day. Riggs is currently employed as a Sports Reporter and Anchor for Sports2Nite. At just 22 years old, Riggs has been able to cover the teams she grew up dreaming to cover like the Spurs, Astros, Cowboys and the Texans. She has also covered events like the NCAA Final Four and the College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska.

When Riggs isn’t working a sporting event, she normally still finds her way to some sort of field or court, but when she does break away, she stays busy volunteering across the city and taking part in community runs or fitness events throughout San Antonio.
