Schreiner’s Coffeehouse Series Features “Rooster” Martinez

The Schreiner Coffeehouse Music Series continues at the Lion’s Den in the Floyd and Kathleen Cailloux Campus Activity Center at Schreiner University on Wednesday, Nov 7. The concert starts at 7 p.m. and is free and open to the public.

This Coffeehouse performance will feature Schreiner University students from the English and the Music Departments and will consist of singing, musical instruments and spoken word performances.

Special Guest, Christopher “Rooster” Martinez, a spoken word/slam poet will also perform. Martinez is a writer and spoken word poet from San Antonio, TX. He is earning an MA/MFA from the Creative Writing, Literature & Social Justice Program at Our Lady of the Lake University. He co-founded the Blah Poetry Spot, a local poetry open mic and community organization. His work has appeared in Button Poetry, The Huffington Post Latino Voices, Pittsburgh Poetry Review, Pilgrimage Press, the Sagebrush Review, and self-published chapbooks.
