Schreiner University, Kerrville, Texas, invites applications for a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor position in Computer Science with an anticipated start date of January 2024. A Ph.D. in Computer Science with interests in game simulation and/or AI is preferred, although candidates with doctoral degrees in related fields will be considered.

Schreiner’s new Computer Science program will launch in Fall 2023 with tracks in Cybersecurity and Game and Simulation Programming. We will be pursuing ABET accreditation. The Department seeks an individual with a strong commitment to undergraduate education in a liberal arts environment and leadership potential to develop and grow this new degree. The applicant should be interested in teaching a wide range of upper and lower-level computer science courses.

Primary responsibilities include teaching 12 credit hours per semester of courses at all levels of the curriculum. The successful candidate will also show initiative in department service supporting ABET accreditation, establishing student chapters of professional societies, fostering relationships with local industry to support Capstone projects, and maintain a productive research program that provides opportunities for undergraduate research compatible with the resources available at a primarily undergraduate institution.

Qualifications: An earned doctorate in Computer Science (or a related field) or ABD with completion no later than January 2024. Teaching experience is preferred.
