Awareness opens the door to tolerance and acceptance.

Please review the Schreiner calendar for upcoming events.

The I.D.E.A. Committee at Schreiner University believes in an inclusive exchange of expressions and ideas, as it is through the open flow of perspectives that communities grow. We are committed to the sharing of stories, histories, and standpoints that encompass various intersected spectrums. In so doing, we seek to cultivate a diverse and inclusive culture. We are thus committed to, care about, and value differences including age, color, disability, ethnicity, gender, national origin, neuro-diversity, race, religion, self-identity, sex, veteran status and every aspect that makes us unique. We trust that in connecting through an array of perspectives, we come together and expand our views to allow for acceptance of all people.

The shared goals of the committee are to:

  • Enable a climate where people feel respected, listened to, and valued.
  • Create dialogues about difference and exclusion.
  • Strengthen the university’s commitment to celebrating and promoting diversity and inclusion.

To achieve these goals, the committee will:

  • Engage faculty and staff in conversations and trainings about diversity and inclusion.
  • Develop policies and structures that enable campus-wide growth.
