Schreiner Men’s Basketball Prospect Camp

Rising high school juniors and seniors interested in playing at Schreiner University are invited to participate in our 2023 prospect camp. Prospects will have an opportunity to participate in a simulated Schreiner University men’s basketball practice, learn about the Schreiner Men’s Basketball program through a panel discussion with the coaches and players, and tour the Schreiner University campus. Schreiner Women’s Basketball Prospect Camp

GRADES: 9th – 12th
DATE: June 11th

Prospect camp for Schreiner Women’s Basketball. The Head Women’s Basketball Coach at Schreiner University if Stacy Stephens who has over 15 years of collegiate coaching experience. Coach Stephens has also competed at the highest levels during her playing career (Drafted in the 2004 WNBA draft) and had the highest levels of success throughout her collegiate career (University of Texas Hall of Honor 2017) and high school (Texas High School Hall of Fame 2021).

The camp will consist of high-level drill work and live basketball playing opportunities. All participants will get an opportunity to show their skill in both live play and drill work. All participants will receive feedback from Coach Stephens or her staff.

This camp is for high level female basketball players who desire to compete at the NCAA level. This is not a teaching camp.

Schreiner Strength Summer Camp

GRADES: 7th – 12th Grades
DATE: June 26th

The Schreiner University Powerlifting Club is holding a Strength and Conditioning Camp for Middle School and High School Athletes. The Camp will consist of learning the proper form as well as different techniques to perform the main powerlifting lifts such as squat, bench press, and deadlift; As well as going over conditioning work to improve their overall cardiovascular endurance. The camp will be from Monday 6/26 and will run through Friday 6/30. Middle School will be meeting from 9:00 A.M. – 11:00 A.M. High School will be meeting from 12:00 P.M. – 2:00 P.M.

Lifting equipment will be provided, but athletes can bring their own if they choose to do so. Snacks and Water will be provided to all athletes. It is encouraged athletes arrive fifteen minutes before their designated start time. All athletes are going to meet at the Mountaineer Fitness Center in classroom 420. Go, Mountaineers!

Schreiner University Summer Music Experience

GRADES: 9th – 12th
Date: June 28th – 30th

The Schreiner University Summer Music Experience is a 3-day camp for band students from high schools across the Texas Hill Country. This camp will primarily focus on preparing students for ATSSB All-Region auditions, but will also include a variety of other music activities; including composition, songwriting, world drumming, and more.

The camp will run June 28th through June 30th, with each day beginning at 9:00AM and ending at 4:00PM. During this time, students will have the chance to participate in group warm-up sessions, ATSSB masterclasses, performance opportunities, and other music electives. We will also hold a special leadership seminar, led by esteemed leadership trainer, Noel Pompa. All of the other events and sessions will be run by Schreiner University Music Department faculty.

This is a day-event only, and no overnight accomindations can be provided. Students should bring their own lunches on Wednesday and Thursday. Pizza will be provided on Friday.

SU Debate Camp will be an introductory experience of collegiate IPDA style debate format. We will start the day with breakfast tacos, a short tour of campus, and then an explication of IPDA facilitated by SU Debate Team students, followed by a fun practice round. We’ll then break for a pizza lunch and then 30mins of free time. Our evening will conclude with one more practice round before our mini-tournament. Finalists will be awarded special Debate Team prizes!

Schreiner Choir All-Region Workshop

GRADES: 9th – 12th
DATE: July 17th – 19th

The Schreiner All-Region Choir Workshop will help prepare All-State competitors for the initial rounds of the All-Region process. Students will benefit from learning the All-Region music and also learn valuable audition strategies for the competition process. Additional sessions in ear-training and sight-reading strategies will also be covered.

Scenic Hills-Schreiner Theatre Design Camp

GRADES: 9th – 12th
DATE: July 17th – 28th

High School students interested in designing scenery for the Theatre will be given an intensive two-week camp where we study all aspects of the theatre design process. Students will complete their own design based on actual upcoming productions at local participating theatres. Successful designs will be submitted to theatres for the possibility of realization as part of the theatre’s season.

Schreiner Men’s Elite ID Soccer Camp

GRADES: 11th – 12th
DATE: August 5th

The Schreiner University Men’s Soccer Elite ID Camp is intended for Junior and Senior High School aged boys who have the desire to play soccer at the collegiate level and beyond. Training sessions will be conducted by collegiate coaches with the purpose of replicating an everyday college training session. Enrollment will be limited to 40 campers and accepted on a first-come first-served basis. This camp is an opportunity to get a jump start on your recruitment while receiving direct instruction from the Schreiner University coaching staff. Each camper will not only enhance their soccer skills but they will get a glimpse into the college athlete lifestyle.
