Schreiner Success StoriesAshley S., graduated with a bachelor’s degree in religion and history and currently teaching English in Japan
Schreiner University has changed my life in so many ways.
When I came to Schreiner I was shy and a complete introvert. Throughout my time here, I was able to grow out of that shell. My freshman year, I had a class based around international relations that opened my eyes; and my sophomore year, world religions class helped me to decide my major—religion.
Many of the professors here on campus have supported me and helped me to chase my dreams. I have grown into a strong, self-confident woman who knows what she wants out of life.
The experience of being a member of Delta Phi Epsilon has helped me learn who I am. I have, under the guidance of my sorority sisters, been able to take chances and risks that otherwise I would not have been able to.
In spring 2013, I was given the chance to study abroad in England, at the University of Leeds. If I had not been at Schreiner or a member of a sorority that let me take these chances I would not be the person I am today. The experience of studying abroad helped to solidify exactly what I want to do and what I want my life to mean when I graduate. I want to attend graduate school, get my doctorate in East Asian religions and then teach at a university.
