Purposeful LivesKimberly “Noel” W., senior, BSN
As I reflect back on the three years I have spent at Schreiner University, I cannot help but be amazed at the opportunities this journey has provided me. I have been challenged, strengthened and encouraged to fight wholeheartedly for my dreams of making a difference in others’ lives. Now, more than ever before, I am motivated to meet the world with an open heart and open mind.
This summer, Schreiner University offered the bachelors of science in nursing class the opportunity to be a part of a medical mission trip in Costa Rica. I am not sure if anything could have completely prepared me for the adventure. Strangers helping strangers transformed the SU motto “Learning by Heart” into a whole new reality. I returned to Schreiner seeing the world through refreshed eyes. My time in Costa Rica allowed me to witness compassion, kindness and appreciation for others in its purest form. It was an experience that I will cherish forever and strive to remember daily in my nursing profession.
