SU to host summer tennis camp
Schreiner University’s head tennis coach, Wade Morgan, will instruct a tennis camp for intermediate and advanced players (at least six months of playing experience recommended) July 20-24.
The cost of the camp is $500 for overnight campers and $400 for day campers.
Each camper will play at least six hour of tennis daily and instruction will include drills, match play, individual instruction and strategy for singles and doubles. Daily chalk talk on mental toughness also will be covered by the program. A tournament will be played at the end of the camp.
This year, each camper also will have the opportunity to have their game evaluated on film by college players and coaches. A player profile will be created for each player upon request to evaluate strengths and weaknesses.
Campers will arrive from 2-4 p.m. July 20 at the Trull Dorms, across from the tennis courts, for check-in. Departure from the camp will be from 11 a.m.-noon on July 24.
Overnight campers are responsible for bringing bedding for a twin bed, toiletries, pillows, blankets. All campers must bring towels, sunscreen, racquets, snacks, water jug and a positive attitude!
All campers are required to pay a $100 deposit to secure a place at the camp by June 15.
