Cantu Named Vice President for Enrollment Services at Schreiner University
Larry Cantu has been named the new vice president for enrollment services at Schreiner University. He began his tenure on January 1.
Cantu, formerly the associate vice president of enrollment services, came to Schreiner a year and a half ago from the University of Houston Downtown. He earned his bachelor’s degree in information systems technology and a master’s in training and development from the University of Houston. He and his wife, Theresa, and their two children reside in Boerne.
“As the next vice president for enrollment services, I want to continue the strong partnerships we have established with our local educators, school districts and families,” Cantu said. “We are very proud of the work we have done bringing talented students to our University and getting them started on their paths.”
Dr. Tim Summerlin, Schreiner president, said Cantu is committed to Schreiner values and brings outstanding skills to the task of carrying the University’s message to prospective students.
“Our enrollment management office has been well-organized, energetic and smart in its operations,” Summerlin said. “New vice president Cantu has shown us in a year and a half at Schreiner that he is the right person to continue that momentum. He knows that recruiting is a job for the whole campus, and he provides the leadership needed to bring us together in that work. His enthusiasm and work ethic are infectious.”
