‘Dog Sees God’ to open Feb. 28

Dog Sees God

The Flag Is Up Productions will perform “Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead” by Bert V. Royal at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28, and Saturday, March 1, and 2 p.m. Sunday, March 2, 2014, in the Hanszen Fine Arts Building studio theatre on the Schreiner University campus.

“Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead” imagines characters from the popular comic strip “Peanuts” as teenagers. The characters encounter serious issues including, drug use, suicide, eating disorders, teen violence, rebellion, sexual relations and others during the play.

Parents are highly discouraged from bringing minor children, and there will be a post-show talk back with the cast and company on Saturday night, which will be moderated by Schreiner University faculty to discuss the difficult and powerful themes of the show.

The event is free but donations are always welcome at the door.

For more information, call Dr. Claudia Sullivan, professor of theater and communication, at 830-792-7401.
