Symphony of the Hills to present ‘Tunes from Transylvania and Beyond’
Symphony of the Hills, under the baton of Dr. Jay Dunnahoo, will kick off its 10th season with “Tunes from Transylvania and Beyond” at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, October 6, at the Cailloux Theater, 910 Main Street, Kerrville.
The evening’s program will include “A Night on Bald Mountain” by Modest Moussorgsky, selections from “The Phantom of the Opera,” “Romanian Rhapsody No. 1” by George Enescu, “Toccata and Fugue in D Minor” by J.S. Bach and “Hary Janos Suite” by Zoltan Kodaly.
Symphony of the Hills concerts are funded through season ticket sales, corporate and individual donations, grants and advertising in the concert programs. The symphony also receives assistance from Schreiner University, The City of Kerrville, Kerrville Independent School District and area businesses. Symphony musicians come from Kerrville, Boerne, Fredericksburg and the Austin and San Antonio areas, and include professionals and Schreiner faculty and advanced music students.
