Local Leaders Help Hill Country College Fund Kick Off New Year

Each year, local business and community leaders help Schreiner University’s Hill Country College Fund raise money for need-based grants for students from Kerr, Gillespie, Kendall, Bandera, Edwards, Kimble and Real counties. In the 2010-2011 academic year, the fund goal of $550,000 was exceeded and helped some 280 students. With the direct donations and endowment income, the university awarded more than $698,000 in grants. This year, student need is greater and the fund’s goal is $565,000.
