Running Camp for Female High School Cross Country Runners

Schreiner University will host a running camp for high school female cross-country runners 6 to 7:30 p.m., June 4-29, under the direction of Dr. Juan Gonzalez. Registration and orientation for the camp will be 6-7 p.m., Thursday, May 24, in room 106 of the Moody Science Building on the Schreiner campus.

Gonzalez, a new member of the Schreiner faculty, is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), Level I Track & Field Coach-USTF and Level I Triathlon Coach-USAT. His training programs are designed specifically for high school female runners. He also will address how sports science can improve athletic performance.

The camp, which costs $250, is geared to the serious competitive runner and will address a number of running-related topics, including preventing injury, strength training, race tactics and running form.
