Calling all former Schreiner students
It’s time for Schreiner University’s annual Recall weekend, when former students return to meet up with old friends, share memories and see how much the campus has changed. The event’s theme this year is music—everything from Benny Goodman and Johnny Cash to The Beatles and Aretha Franklin.
One of the weekend’s highlights will be the Annual Randy Shepler ’54 Golf Tournament at Riverhill Country Club on Friday, April 20, with a shotgun start at noon. Greens fees will be $75 and single-hole sponsorships are $100. For the less sports-minded, there’s a day-trip to Bandera for shopping and lunch.
Among other Recall events will be a Friday night dance, the annual Military Tribute Breakfast, a reception and exhibit for local artist Richard Rouse and the Tribute to Schreiner Legends Banquet, all on Saturday.
“This is my first Recall as the new alumni relations director and one of my goals is to see larger numbers of area Schreiner former students on campus for this year’s event,” said Paul Camfield.
Schreiner would particularly like to reach former students who have even decade anniversaries from 1937-97, the “Golden Grads” of 1957.
Camfield added that one of the goals of Recall is help people reconnect with former classmates and friends, and “the alumni department is there to provide that service.”
Former students can register for Recall 2007 online this year. For more information about Recall, and to register online go to here.
